What are templates, Apache, PHP, MySQL versions?

PHP and MySQL versions are different. And your choice will depend on your site engine. Template is a set of software preinstalled on your server. We would recommend the Soft2006 template installation as it is state-of-the-art technology.

How to upload files to web server where ISPmanager is installed?

There are two variants of data uploading. We would recommend you the one by which files are transferred to the web server via "FTP" (File Transfer Protocol). As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your leisure. The information contained within your account activation notice will be needed to connect you to your web site via FTP (the administrative username and password). You can place files on your FTP site using a standard FTP client such as FarManager or TotalCommander. Place the data in the directory www/domain_name/.

You can also place files on your FTP site using File Manager in the ISPmanager menu.

What do limits mean?

Limit or Quota allows you to enforce ISPmanager user and group limits on disk usage. Quotas are most often used to prevent users from hogging disk space. Additionally you can place limits on the shell access.

How to create a database?

To create a database, you first need to log in ISPmanager with user privileges. Then create new MySQL database and a user for it. Then you can modify the data using PhpMyAdmin.

By default, MySQL database server remote access disabled for security reasons. However, some time you need to provide the remote access to database server from home or from web server. But you should be careful with it.

What are PHP and Perl extensions?

These are optional modules that you can compil then you want and then it is required for your site engine. At this point you can install additional modules, such as PHP and mod_perl. PHP is an excellent scripting language for the web. Because PHP is directly compiled into the web server binary, it doesn't suffer from the performance hits of forking and executing a separate command interpreter. For its installation, go to the module PHP extensions. To install mod_perl, there are Perl modules.
