Our Virtual Dedicated Servers come with a wide variety of pre-installed software to help you get started right away. Purchazing a VDS, you can choose the software package you like. The operating system on our virtual dedicated servers is a standard version of the FreeBSD Operating System with a number special modifications having been made to enhance the system which means that all of the standard file structure, services, and commands of a "generic" FreeBSD dedicated server operating system are maintained. Support for PHP4. MySQL, FrontPage and other common applications has been pre-installed for you and the many third party applications or "ports" which are available for both the FreeBSD and Linux operating systems will be compatible with your new server. But note that running these operating systems requires different virtualization techniques (systems). So you need to know that:

Pre-installed FreeBSD OS will not occupy your VDS disk space. Our experts will update all the pre-installed software regulary.

Pre-installed Linux OS takes up disk space allocated to your VDS. And we will not update the software - you will have to do it yourself.

1. Operating system FreeBSD 6.x and stable software (recommended)

The package includes the latest version of FreeBSD OS and the most stable additional software (Apache 1.3.x, MySQL 4.1, PHP 4.x, Perl 5.8.7). This software package is the ideal solution for VDS-Raccoon plan account.

In VDSmanager panel you can find it as "ISPmanager".

2. Operating system FreeBSD 6.x and contemporary software (recommended)

The package includes the latest version of FreeBSD OS and up-to-the-minute software versions (Apache 2.x, MySQL 5.x, PHP 5.x, Perl 5.8.7). As you know, later version always tends to consume more system resources than earlier ones. So we would suggest this package to all our customers who want to use state-of-the-art technologies in web-building.

In the VDSmanager panel you can find it as "Soft2006".

3. Operating system FreeBSD 6.x basic installation

The FreeBSD basic version. The package does not include any additional application software. The VDS platform allows advanced users to create and edit your own configuration. This package would be excellent for experienced system administrators.

In the VDSmanager panel you can find it as "FreeBSD".
